How the Bronzer May Appear on Different Skin Tones

• Rosy / Pink: May visually soften the appearance of surface redness
• Light Neutral: Appears as a soft, natural light brown
• Medium Neutral / Olive: Appears as a richer neutral brown
• Medium-Deep: Appears as a deeper neutral brown overlay
• Deep / Dark: Adds subtle visible definition and glow

The bronzer is a temporary cosmetic application guide and rinses away. Final tan depth develops from the DHA reaction with the skin.

Double Shot Rapid allows professional artists to customize color depth through controlled rinse timing. The following guide provides approximate color-depth comparisons to traditional DHA solutions.

• 1 hour: Comparable to an 8–10% DHA solution
• 2 hours: Comparable to a 10–12% DHA solution
• 3 hours: Comparable to a 12–14% DHA solution

These percentages represent approximate color-depth equivalents, not the actual DHA concentration in the formula. Results vary based on skin condition, hydration, application, and individual skin chemistry.

Professional Rinse-Time Considerations

For clients with younger, dewy, well-hydrated skin seeking additional depth, rinse time may be extended to 4–5 hours. Clients with deeper natural skin pigmentation may also benefit from longer rinse times when their skin is well hydrated and in good condition.

For clients with very fair, dry, or mature skin, we generally recommend staying within 3 hours to avoid excessive depth or emphasizing areas of dryness.

Skin tone alone does not determine the ideal rinse time. Always consider hydration, skin condition, tanning history, and desired color depth.

Do not exceed 6 hours. Longer development does not always produce a better result.

After the First Rinse

The cosmetic guide bronzer rinses away during the first shower. The DHA-developed color continues to mature afterward, with final results generally visible within 24 hours of application. Remind clients that a lighter appearance immediately after rinsing is normal.

Rather than relying on a higher DHA percentage, Double Shot uses a different formula architecture. It builds on the Cocoanilla skin care foundation with additional hydration and conditioning components, including Sodium PCA, sodium hyaluronate, pomegranate sterols, and radish seed extract, along with purposeful concentration adjustments elsewhere in the formula.

Together, these changes support quicker release, efficient surface distribution, and more responsive DHA development during the rapid contact window.

Because rapid development takes place over a shorter period, the condition of the stratum corneum becomes especially important. Well-hydrated, resilient skin generally provides a more predictable environment for even development and deeper rapid results.

The formula includes:

Before Spraying

• Assess the client’s skin condition, hydration, tanning history, and desired depth
• Skin should be gently exfoliated, clean, and free of heavy lotions, deodorant, makeup, or other surface residue
• AYU Smooth Glow Pre-Tan Prep Spray may be used as part of professional preparation

Application

• Shake gently before use
• Pour approximately 50 mL (1.5 to 2 fl oz) into the spray gun cup
• Apply using smooth, controlled overlapping strokes
• Two light coats are recommended. The first establishes coverage and the second confirms even application
• Medium viscosity is suitable for professional HVLP and airbrush systems
• Allow approximately 8 to 10 minutes to dry before dressing

Development

• Assign rinse timing according to skin condition, hydration, tanning history, and desired depth
• Clearly communicate the exact rinse time to the client
• Clients should rinse at the assigned time and should not extend development in an attempt to become darker
• First rinse with water is recommended
• Final DHA-developed color continues to mature after rinsing
