Before You Begin

• Ensure skin is clean, exfoliated, and free of oils, lotion, makeup, or deodorant.

Equipment Setup

• Designed for HVLP and airbrush systems.
• Set to medium or high speed.
• Use approximately 50 mL (1.5–2 fl oz) per client.
• Return the unused solution to the original bottle if it is uncontaminated.
• If you mixed AYU Plus brown with other AYU solutions, store the leftover product in a separate bottle with a proper label.

Spray Technique

• Apply two light, even coats using overlapping strokes.
• Keep a consistent distance and steady flow to avoid pooling.

Drying & Development

• Allow skin to dry for 8–10 minutes before dressing.
• Allow the color to develop for 6–8 hours without water, sweating, or tight clothing.
• Rinse with warm water only—no soap or scrubbing. Pat your skin dry.

Safety Compliance

Follow FDA guidelines for sunless tanning application:

• Use nose filters, eye protection, and undergarments for clients.
• Artists should wear gloves and masks.
• Spray in a well-ventilated area, ideally with an extraction fan.

What is the wear time for AYU Plus Brown?

It is an 8-hour solution. Clients should wait 6–8 hours before rinsing with warm water (no soap) for best results.

What makes AYU Plus Brown different from other solutions?

It was one of the first skincare-infused sunless tanning solutions, launched in 2004. It features hydrating botanicals, five DHA levels, and a neutral-toned bronzer with a soft honey-caramel hue.

Can I blend AYU Plus Brown with other AYU solutions?

Yes. It's a favorite among artists for customizing DHA strength and tan depth by blending across AYU Plus or layering with other AYU solutions.

Is it suitable for sensitive or mature skin?

Yes. It's fragrance-free, alcohol-free, and formulated with soothing and hydrating ingredients like hyaluronic acid, squalane, aloe, jojoba, and tea extracts.

Will the bronzer stain clothing?

It contains a soft, translucent guide color that is less likely to transfer. Clients should wear loose, dark clothing during development.

Can clients work out or get wet after the tan?

Not during the 6–8 hour development phase. After the initial rinse, the tan becomes sweat-resistant.

What DHA% % should I use for my client?

Refer to our DHA Guide above to match Fitzpatrick skin type and skin condition with the appropriate level. Skin hydration plays a key role in the outcome.

Does it contain erythrulose?

Yes. Erythrulose is included to achieve a more even fading effect and to complement the DHA reaction.

What color will the final tan be?

AYU Plus Brown produces a golden-bronze tan that deepens according to the selected DHA level. The final color is natural-looking, never orange.

How much product should I use per client?

Approximately 50 mL (1.5–2 fl oz) per session. You can return the unused solution to the original bottle if it hasn't been mixed or contaminated.
